This piece emerged from silence.
 
Unlike many of my works that unfold through immediate revelation, scripture, or song as I paint, Illuminating the Threshold came forth quietly. No guiding word. No accompanying melody. Only color—green in all its tones. This was a first: an entire painting drawn solely from the well of verdant hues.
 
It wasn’t until the final brushstroke that the painting’s name and its scriptural alignment arrived. And when they did, they came with clarity.
 
This work feels like a rising. A surfacing. A moment caught between the deep and the dawn. Just as the Spirit of God brooded over the formless waters before light was spoken into being, so too did this painting hover in the unseen until it was time to emerge.
