KOMOREBI

Komorebi Reimagined, encapsulates the infusion of our passions into the fabric of daily existence. It seeks out luminosity while traversing through life’s obscurities, and nurturing the belief that every slender ray of light has the power to illuminate our path.

In the intricate tapestry of existence, the true essence of life is found in the subtleties—the earthy scent accompanied by raindrops, the rhythm of the crashing waves upon the shore, or the penetrating sunlight piercing the forest canopy.

Komorebi, untranslatable in English, embodies the sunlight that gracefully dances through the verdant foliage, with its intricate interplay of brilliant light and shadow. Yet, it is not merely a visual spectacle; it is a sensation and feeling it leaves behind.

In this collection, I endeavor to capture the very essence of those moments when we encounter light amidst our darkest hours. It’s the luminous glimmer that guides us through emotional territories, rekindling the fervor of life itself and inspiring us with new visions and aspirations. It invites us to unclasp our hearts and minds, inviting each passing moment to flood us with its radiance, to illuminate both our own perfections and those of others.

In all the facets of life, we should celebrate our transcendent beauty in our darkest moments, a reminder to seize every instant, and a call to illuminate the world, one shaft of light at a time.

“Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb...” — Revelation 22:1-2

In Solice, the forest becomes a sanctuary, a threshold between earth and heaven where the veil grows thin. The stream flowing through the heart of the woods is not merely water—it is the river of life, clear and luminous, echoing the eternal flow that proceeds from the throne of God and the Lamb. Its gentle path carves through the landscape like a divine artery, carrying peace, restoration, and sacred rhythm.

The light dancing on the water and filtering through the trees suggests a sacred presence—the unseen yet ever-near glory of the Divine. Each tree, rooted beside the living stream, whispers of the tree of life mentioned in Revelation, whose branches yield fruit in every season and whose leaves carry healing for the nations. In this painted moment, time is suspended. The air is saturated with stillness. It is a glimpse into Eden restored.

Solice invites the viewer to return to rest, to abide in the quiet mystery of Divine healing, and to behold beauty that transcends chaos. It is a visual prayer—an invitation to drink deeply, to listen quietly, and to be made whole.

The artwork emphasizes the patience required to wait for light to filter through the leaves in the dark corners of a forest floor. This light not only reveals hidden aspects within ourselves but also illuminates the beauty in those we connect with. The question posed is whether we have the time and patience to wait for this light to reveal all the beauty in others. The journey through the forest symbolizes this exploration, encouraging us to enjoy not only the grandeur of the trees above but also the small wonders found at the roots.

There is a dynamic movement beneath the surface, symbolizing growth and expansion. This hidden movement is what nourishes the visible beauty that we see with the naked eye. "Dancing Light" captures this essence, inviting viewers to appreciate the intricate dance of light and shadow and the profound beauty it reveals in both nature and human nature. It ask the question what lies beyond?
