Painted in lapis lazuli—the blue of priestly garments —Gate of Remembrance is a visual psalm, a meditation on beauty as devotion.
Stairs ascend to the central circle that opens like a gate within the heart. From it, the Tree of Life stands rooted and radiant. This form reflects the movement of the soul toward the Tree of Life, rendered as the axis between realms. The Tree stands as a living symbol of continuity, restoration, and divine order—rooted in the earth yet reaching toward the heavens.
Gold flames move around the circumference, rising from the Tree itself. Gold, the metal of glory and kingship, signifies what is eternal and incorruptible. These flames are not destructive; they are illuminating, causing refinement. Beauty in motion, love ascending, prayer embodied, and the heart awakened to God’s truth.
This work is anchored in Psalm 27:4:
“One thing I have desired of the Lord… to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.”
